Nationality: Irish (Reared/Tamed In England though)
How did you hear about The Posh Club? Came across the site while looking for local reading clubs on the Internet.
What made you decide to join The Posh Club? Opportunity to meet like-minded people; to read and discuss a more diverse range of books (personally I like contemporary and popular fiction, especially crime).
Who is your favourite author? Thomas Hardy heads a long, long list.
What has been your favourite read of the last twelve months? Probably Lionel Shriver’s “We Need To Talk About Kevin”, but Edith Wharton’s “The Age of Innocence” comes close.
What do you feel you get out of ’The Posh Club? Oh, definitely broadening range of reading – personally I’d never have picked up the Wharton novel but am glad it was chosen!
Would you recommend The Posh Club to your friends/work colleagues? Yes! I’m surprised colleagues (at Aberdeen University) weren’t aware of it. However, I’ve found Aberdeen does seem to hide things under a bush a bit, and it’s been up to individuals to find out what’s available.
