I found it a quick read when I did read it which was a while ago. It is not a book that I would normally go for – so thanks Nouline for an interesting read.
A very strange book! But I really liked the style of it, and it kept me wanting to read more. Although I was probably very confused most of the way through it; I kept expecting to get some sort of explanation, but none came . . . Very difficult to explain to folk when they asked what it was about! Don’t know if I would recommend it, or read it again, but an intriguing read!
A really enjoyed it. The method of writing was good and the unfolding of events kept me in suspense. I liked the idea of putting across an important point and showing how similar (?) we can be to animals. It’s the human race taking a look in the mirror.
I didn’t know what was going on the majority of the time but I couldn’t put it down. I would definitely recommend to friends just to see what they thought of it.
Really enjoyed this book, thought it managed to keep the revelation under wraps until just about the right time. As well as being an exciting read it also gave plenty to think about afterwards.
I have read the book and I think it’s good, strange and well written. I wonder if the author is vegetarian?? The ending was a little bit disappointing but enjoyed reading it.
Quite a disturbing book. When I was half way through I felt like I didn’t want to finish it but had to keep going to see what the outcome would be. I am glad I finished it. It leaves you with a lot to think about.
I feel like a Posh Club regular now as I didn’t finish the book! I am suitable intrigued though and will carry on to the end.
It was a well written book and the sparse prose suited the story. It was deeper than I expected and hit on important themes of compassion, justice, and what it means to be human.
Contrary to my expectations I enjoyed it. While I thought that the concept of challenging carnivorous behaviour was a bit superficial and weakly explored, I found the story to be compelling and well-written. I wonder though if the main character was male and the “victims” female whether the story could be told so matter of factly?
A wonderful book. Strange and evocative. A start and disturbing expose of mass-produced meat.
The book was cleverly written. I was genuinely intrigued and kept reading with interest and curiosity. It didn’t make me give up meat though!
